About
Mina
Mina
began her journey to Middle Eastern dance in 1990. She
started dancing at The
SynergyDance and Healing
Arts Studio in Washington, D.C. where she developed her love of
world dance. At the same time, she studied African dance for many
years with teachers overseas and in the D.C. metropolitan area.
In 1997, she extended
her learning to include the subtleties of Middle Eastern movement.
She embarked on a rigorous training program with a wide variety
of dance teachers. In 2000, she began a solo performing career and
was asked to join the Ancient Rhythms Dance Troupe as a soloist.
Presently, she is the Creative Director for The Nile Wind Dancers
who dance at area shows and recitals. Mina also performs regularly
as a soloist dancer with musicians from the Middle East as well
as with Stream and
the Blue Dragons/Cairo Connexion dance band.
Mina lives with her husband and two young boys in the DC metropolitan
area.
